Our Team
We are Geraint Smith and David Vedoe, two artists with deep roots in the art scene. Geraint is a renowned fine art and commercial photographer with a keen eye for dramatic landscapes. David is an architect, artist and muralist known internationally for his vibrant and expansive works.
Having collaborated on a variety of commercial and artistic projects over the years, we bring together our individual creative vision and technical expertise to create a seamless and collaborative approach to visual storytelling.
Mountain Light Studios was born during our hikes through spectacular high-mountain landscapes, surrounded by breathtaking vistas that inspired our shared creative vision. Our ideas and concepts emerge organically through collaboration, fueled by curiosity, humor, and a shared passion for visual expression.
We draw inspiration from the diverse cultures and the rich tapestry of people that make our world so unique. We bring these elements into our work through a thoughtful blend of creativity, technical skill, and artistic perspective.
The Process
Our creative approach draws on a rich blend of experience in fine art, design, graphic arts, architecture, architectural illustration, murals, commercial and fine art photography. By bringing together these complementary disciplines, we develop a distinctive visual language that balances technical precision with artistic expression.
Each project begins with thoughtful research and exploration, allowing us to uncover ideas, influences, and visual narratives that inform our creative direction. We transform these discoveries into compelling conceptual visualizations that bridge the tangible and the imagined, combining authentic detail with inventive interpretation.
Our work encompasses a broad spectrum of visual styles, from the richness and character of historical traditions to contemporary design. Through this fusion of disciplines, perspectives, and techniques, we create imagery that engages the imagination, and offers a fresh perspective on the world around us.
About Client Commissions
Each commissioned project begins with a collaborative consultation, ideas, conceptual sketches, existing material and/or location photography. Throughout this process, photography and artistic interpretation work together to create imagery with clarity, depth, and emotional impact.
We create versatile, thoughtfully crafted artworks that engage viewers while reflecting the unique character of each client, space, and project. Each project can be adapted to a variety of formats, sizes and scales, ensuring it complements its surroundings and enhances the overall visual environment.
As the project evolves, we refine and finalize the imagery to meet project specific requirements. The result is distinctive artwork that connects with viewers and creates a lasting visual experience. These elements are carefully developed from initial concept to final project.
